Fuji Elevator Enterprise Origin and Current Situation

Since the 1990s, Chinese elevator companies started to include Fuji in their company name or product name, which originated from Fuji elevator inverters. At that time, Mitsubishi PLC+Fuji inverter was the standard configuration for many high-end elevator control cabinets. Mitsubishi had a joint venture elevator enterprise in China while Fuji was a company focusing only on elevator parts. In such a situation, “Fuji” was gradually adopted as an elevator brand name by some elevator manufacturers. At its peak, there were more than 50 elevator factories named Fuji in the country. Basically, almost every province in China has a Fuji elevator company. Most people thought that Fuji, as a well-known Japanese brand, must have been registered by the Japanese parent company for brand protection. However, Japan’s Fuji headquarters turned a blind eye on this issue in order to sell its inverters, just like all PCs at that time were using Intel inside. Since there were not many choices, it was natural that most elevator companies chose the Fuji brand.

It might be a good idea to learn more about Fuji in China. Now there are 40-50 Fuji elevator companies in China, and Fuji elevators are also divided into four tiers. The largest and most well-known Fuji brands in the Chinese market are: Fujitec, , FujiHD, Shanghai Fuji and so on. The annual capacity of these elevator enterprises is about 15,000 units. They have Industry 4.0 plants and test towers, the highest level national production and manufacturing licenses, and national-level laboratories integrating R&D, manufacturing, installation, transformation and other elevator industry chain enterprises. There are also more than a dozen elevator companies belonging to the second-tier such as Shandong Fuji, Chongqing Fuji, Huizhou Fuji, Guangdong Fuji, Fujitsu, Fuji Power, etc. Their annual output is from 1,000 to 4,000 units; they have qualification but they were established late, and they are not engaged in R&D. Their basic concept is that they use whatever components other manufacturers use, and use the market to test products. The rest are third and fourth tier brands. They are called Fuji, but have no fixed workshop. They rent test towers, but have no manufacturing license. They are basically elevator companies established to process elevator parts. They are very unreliable even if they call themselves Fuji. The damaged self-made parts cannot be traced back, and the Chinese consumers will also see them as inferior quality products.

As the most cost-effective and largest brand in China’s Fuji elevator market, Fujisj is well-accepted by the market, and is suitable for various middle and high-end projects; We, Fujisj, has the influence, strength, support, and long-term potential customers. The world looks at China, and the Chinese elevators account for 70% of the world’s elevators. Fuji elevators are recognized by the Chinese market and will undoubtedly be recognized across the world.
