Application of elevator compensation chain

During the operation of the traction elevator, the length of the wire rope on the car side and counterweight side is constantly changing, which causes the change of the weight of the wire rope on both sides of the traction wheel. When the car is located in the lowest level station, the weight of the wire rope mostly acts on the car side; when the car is located in the highest level station, the weight of the wire rope mostly acts on the counterweight side. This kind of change has little influence on the operation performance of elevator when the elevator lifting height is not big, but when the lifting exceeds a certain height, it will seriously affect the stability of elevator operation and endanger the safety of passengers. For this reason, when the elevator lifting height exceeds a certain height, it is necessary to set up components with certain weight to balance the weight change caused by the height change, which is the elevator balance compensation chain.
Therefore, the elevator balance compensation chain is defined as “a component used to connect the elevator car with the counterweight, balance the weight of the traction wire rope and the accompanying cable, and play a balancing role in the operation of the elevator”. At present, the actual experience of engineering installation is that the balance compensation chain needs to be installed when the lifting height exceeds 30M. In practice, because the type of elevator, load and environment are different, it is not recommended to set the critical lifting height according to the actual empirical method, and if it is necessary to use it, the system safety should be given priority rather than the cost.

The installation of the compensation chain differs according to the structure type of the compensation chain and the installation method. The common compensation chain, both wearing rope compensation chain and plastic compensation chain, has a simple structure. Therefore, the installation method is also simpler. Each end of the compensation chain is connected to the car bottom frame and counterweight with a suspension device, and then a guiding device consisting of two PVC wheels is set under the counterweight in the bottom pit. For the all-plastic compensation chain, because it is mostly used in high-rise and high-speed elevators, the installation method is more complicated, and each end of the compensation chain is connected to the car bottom frame and counterweight with a suspension device. There is a guiding device in the bottom pit, which is installed at about 1m above the bottom pit of the bending radius of the compensation chain. There are 2 guiding devices under each compensation chain, one is installed under the car through the bracket and the other is installed under the counterweight through the bracket. Only by using the correct installation tools and installation methods can we ensure the normal operation of the compensation chain with the elevator.
